“Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, Chincoteague ponies from the Chincoteague Pony Centre reside at the Blue Heron Inn, to greet guests as they drive in and out and let them see these beautiful equines close up. These ponies originated in the wilds of Assateague and today are trained ponies, under the care of the Pony Centre. The Pony Centre, located on Chicken City Road, offers pony rides, riding lessons, pony shows, a gift shoppe and Memories of Misty museum and is open six days a week over the summer season. Direct descendants of Misty reside and perform at the Pony Centre daily. We also sell both foals and fully trained mature Chincoteague ponies.”
